Today marks my first day at my new job as a Systems Engineer at an MSP! This opportunity came to me fairly quickly, and after a bittersweet goodbye at Grover, I was champing at the bit to get started.
I had received my equipment last week and was eager to set it up! I received my login credentials in the morning, booted up my PC, and let it do its thing. While that was happening, I joined a morning stand-up (for lack of a better word) meeting with the team.
My goal throughout the day was: onboarding. Went through and made sure that I had access to everything I needed and began to go through the troves of reference material that was available for me. Day 1 was relatively hands-off as I got to read through and understand the lay of the land.
Next thing I knew, it was 5pm and it was the end of my day! That’s definitely the biggest change — coming from 10 hour days made this one feel SO quick!
Key takeaways:
My real problem is…what do I do with the 5 extra hours I’ll have every day?!
